One of the major goals for Project 29 was to document myself for my two girls. I spend so much time taking pictures of them, and very little time taking pictures of myself. So I devoted this week’s post to selfies….
This crap is hard. Selfies I mean. To get these three pictures, I probably took 2 dozen. That’s 24 frames to get three good shots. Makes me thankful I’m not doing this with film.
These images are pretty well unedited. A simple preset on my phone to bump color and match my photography style is all. But they capture everything. That’s the thing with selfies. They tend to be posted to social media immediately, versus professional images that are given the full on editing treatment and posted several days after the image is taken. But the thing is, I want my children to see me. Without the spot treatment, without all the “fixes”. This is the way they’d remember me anyway. They won’t remember the makeup I wore, or the fact that my hair was curled only on weekends.
At the end of this year, I’ll have a nice selection I can put into a book for those two little mini mes. Besides, the selfies…. they make me feel pretty too. 😉
